How a Fort Pierce apostille works.

There is no state apostille counter in Fort Pierce or anywhere else in St. Lucie County — only the Florida Department of State in Tallahassee issues them. We hand-carry every Fort Pierce order there and get it back to you in five to seven business days, instead of the five to seven weeks a mailed-in request usually takes.

Most Fort Pierce orders start with a St. Lucie County record: birth and death certificates from the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County, and marriage licenses, divorce decrees and court records from the St. Lucie County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller. Anything signed in front of a Florida notary — a power of attorney, an affidavit, a single-status letter, a translation — can be apostilled as well. Diplomas and transcripts from Indian River State College qualify too, once the registrar's office has signed them in front of a notary.

Prefer to hand your documents to a person? Our nearest appointment office is West Palm Beach, Monday–Friday by appointment.

What to send: the original certified copy or notarized document — the apostille is attached to the paper itself, so a scan won't work — and the name of the country where it will be used. That country decides whether Florida issues an apostille or, outside the Hague Convention, an authentication certificate.

Pricing is the same from Fort Pierce as from anywhere in Florida: $220 per document, $380 for two and $160 each from the third, with the state fee and U.S. return shipping included. Documents for the same country travel together in one envelope; international return is $100 flat per order.

What Fort Pierce customers apostille most.

Retiring or buying abroad

Fort Pierce customers moving to Portugal, Costa Rica, Panama or Mexico need apostilled birth and marriage certificates for residency, and an apostilled power of attorney for any closing they can't attend.

Marriage overseas

A wedding in Italy, Greece or the Caribbean usually asks for an apostilled birth certificate and a notarized single-status affidavit. We can arrange the notarization online.

Diplomas & transcripts

Graduates of Indian River State College apostille diplomas and transcripts for graduate school, teaching jobs and credential evaluations abroad.

Common questions.

Not a state one. Florida apostilles are issued only by the Florida Department of State in Tallahassee, so no office in St. Lucie County can issue one. The closest place to meet us is our West Palm Beach office at 500 S Australian Ave, Suite 6088B, by appointment Monday–Friday. Or order online and skip the drive.
Birth and death certificates: the Florida Department of Health in St. Lucie County, the Florida Bureau of Vital Statistics in Jacksonville, or VitalChek — the state fee for these is $10. Marriage licenses, divorce decrees, court records and deeds: the St. Lucie County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller — $20 state fee for a clerk-certified copy, or $10 for a marriage certificate ordered from Vital Statistics. Both fees are included in our $220. We don't accept vital records certified before 2014: the signature on file at the Department of State must be the current registrar's, so an older copy needs to be re-ordered first.
Yes. Ask the registrar's office for a diploma copy or transcript signed by a school official in front of a Florida notary, "for apostille". That notarized document is what the Department of State apostilles — a plain copy or an outside notary's copy certification is rejected.
$220 per document, state fee and U.S. return shipping included — the same online or by appointment. Full cost breakdown →
Yes — Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach and Stuart order exactly the way Fort Pierce does: online or by appointment in West Palm Beach, $220 per document, back in 5–7 business days.
